One Bounce Hand Pass Game
The One Bounce Handpass Game is a small-sided game (SSG) designed to enhance players' spatial awareness, movement, and handpassing accuracy. In this 3 vs. 3 drill within a 30x30 meter square, the ball must bounce once before a teammate can receive it. This requirement encourages players to pass into space and receiving players make runs into space to meet the ball, promoting dynamic play and anticipation.
Setup:
- Area: 30x30 meter square.
- Teams: Two teams of three players each.
- Objective: Maintain possession by executing handpasses that bounce once before being received.
Rules:
- Handpassing Only: Players can only advance the ball using handpasses.
- Mandatory Bounce: Each pass must bounce once before a teammate can receive it.
- Movement into Space: Players must move into open areas to receive the bouncing pass, emphasizing timing and positioning.
Coaching Points:
- Passing Accuracy: Focus on delivering handpasses with appropriate force and direction into space (Advantage Ball) to ensure a controlled bounce.
- Anticipation: Encourage players to read the game and move proactively into space to receive passes.
- Communication: Emphasize verbal and non-verbal cues to coordinate movements and passing decisions.
Can add layers by making the area bigger and use either hand pass or kick pass options to deliver the ball into space (Advantage Ball).
